About three months ago we were afflicted with what I like to call "Expansionitis". As information comes out about an expansion people take some time to readjust their lives. Some decide raiding isn't for them, and others lose a sense of "purpose" because they know that an expansion signals a reboot on gear and progression. Whatever the reasons, people end up quitting.
Around that time we had lost a good portion of our core raiders. At our lowest we had cut back to raiding four days a week, but were only able to raid two of those days because of attendance issues. We had lost our raid leader, our healer leader, and a couple of our top casters. I can't tell you how close we were to scrapping the whole thing and divvying up our guild bank.
To that end, we put everything on the line. We fleshed out an extensive plan consisting of multiple goals. We gave anyone who was fed up with us the choice to walk away. At the time we felt it was a risky move. We honestly expected half of our remaining players to quit. The response was overwhelming. No one wanted this to be the end. Not a single. One.
Thus began sweeping changes through the guild. We began heavy recruiting thanks to Bronskie. We spent a large portion of our time gearing up new applicants in Black Temple. Within two months we were back in Sunwell with a great raid force. Kalecgos fell again shortly after, and we were back to our old spot in progression. All that remained was the cornerstone to our plan.
Last night the culmination of our hard work came together. That cornerstone was seated. I can't express how proud I am of you. You folks have worked damn hard for this day and helped one of my dreams come to fruition. Thank you.
We're back.

Thanks to all those that went the extra mile to find that little bit of final SR to get to max so that we didn't have to borrow hearts to make pants!
